i've been known to be the guy in WI 218 who taps my fellow classmates and tells them to look up. tis rather scary. it looks like it's covered in mold as well as dust. i've wanted to pass out face masks at the door.

Ah, yes, good ole public education. I feel the same way just down the street in Broughton Hall (where our MAE Dean threw away a wind tunnel that was donated to us becase we couldn't afford to store it until time for installation over at Centennial. and the wind tunnel we are stuck with has been here since around 1930 and produces absolute crap for data).

But at least we have a brand new football "operations center" over at Carter Finley.

At our university we mostly have "old" dual p3's. Can't really complain about their speed. Last year or so most of the employees got new TFT's. It was a really strange picture seeing this mass of empty TFT cartons lying around everywhere.
BTW: One really great place to be (and to learn) in summer is the notebook cafe. Air-conditioned rooms rule ;-)

Inverted dust collection...nice. Doesn't seem to distort the wireless reception (-: Quick question...the engr building on our campus is decent, but how are the computers that are in that building for you? What reeeeealy gets to me is the open access labs in other buildings have better system configurations (+proc, +ram, DVD-Rs, LCD monitors, etc) and what they're mainly used for is less than repuatble. In the engr building we're booting win98 or 2k if you're lucky with out of date hardware for apps (and users) that would make better use of more up to date systems. Just a rant of mine.
